THE MAGISTRATES COURT AND THE YOUTH COURT

Should you have to appear at the magistrate’s or the Youth Court, you will be advised of the options available to you and how best to proceed.

THE CROWN COURT

The more serious cases go to the Crown Court and should this happen, again, we will ensure that your case is thoroughly prepared and presented to its best advantage, including the collection of evidence and the instructing of appropriate witness.

You will be represented in the Crown Court either by a barrister, carefully selected from our chosen panel or by one of our Higher Court-Advocates.

PUBLIC FUNDING ----- LEGAL AID

We hold a general criminal contract with Legal Services Commission, which means that our criminal solicitors can apply for legal aid to represent you, if you qualify.

We will always advise you as to your eligibility for public funding.

• Legal advice and assistance is available free of charge if you are under arrest at the Police Station or attending the Police Station for interview.
• Public funding is available at the Magistrates' Court (subject to means testing and the Interest of justice test).
• Public funding is also available at the Crown Court.
